***Update: Mgr Janelle called me on the following Friday and set up an appointment to have another technician come out to correct issues noted. Bryan came out, had the desk lock fixed and explained issue within 10 minutes. He proceeded to tighten the light fixtures and added caulk near pendent. He even did a little brainstorming to make the dining light more secure and closer to ceiling. He had a great personality and did a wonderful job today, so I am happy to report they turned a negative experience into a positive. ******
I contacted Ace Handyman because I used them before in another state and they gave a 5% discount. I verified this ofc also operated the same and was given a quote for 4hrs. The technician Ben show up about 10 minutes earlier. He had me sign, but there was no break down. I asked if the 5% discount was included and he replied, he think so. I called the ofc, spoke to Dakota and asked for break down, he gives me the run down of what I was having done. I asked for hourly fee only to find discount was not included. When I asked about it, he told me, they really don't give it, its only about $20 less anyway. I told him its $24.50, and it was the first thing I verified when I called. Ben was to put up 2 pendent lights, 2 ceiling fans, a dining light, put together a desk. He decided to start on desk. Over 2hrs into doing desk, I had to ask him to move on to the most important items. He then tells me a desk can take 3hrs because you can't use power tools. Well sir, you should've disclosed that, and I would have left that last or excluded. He put up 1 fan, then showed me light cover which was cracked. He states he didn't know if he did it or it came like that, but he would pay for replacement. I put up 2 fans already, and nothing was damaged in the box. I asked him to remove damaged cover and I would order a replacement. He then put up 2 pendent lights and a dining light. I told him not to worry about glass pieces, just mount. I noticed two of the ceiling openings were visible and they weren't flush to ceiling. The dining light seems unstable. Instead of beating a dead horse, I had about 30 minutes left, so I just asked him to put a hook in concrete to support a rod. This was a mistake because it took a lot longer to put in 2 screws. He went to his vehicle several times, once about 15 mins, he struggled to get his parts changed out. He was polite, but in my opinion a slower, less experienced technician. My closet design person showed up and couldn't believe the condition he left my house in. I had to remind him, he was leaving his eletric meter tool. Dust from putting 2 screws in was on my lanai screen. I wasn't happy with my service. The technician in the other state was very skilled, neat and cleaned up behind himself. I wouldn't use this particular ACE Handyman again, because when I mentioned it to "Dakota" I was told to send pictures and they usually send same technician to correct at no cost. Sir, why would I want same less skilled, slow person? I put in the other fan myself, put the desk top on and affixed cabinet underneath that Ben put together only to find 2 omitted cabinet parts and the desk doesn't lock.

Douglas was great, did a fantastic job painting my front door, installing a new screen door, and replacing my outdoor garage lights. Fully professional and explained everything as he went along. I would highly recommend Ace Handyman Service in general and Douglas in particular. Couldn’t be happier!

Timothy Dillon was polite, professional, on time and skilled. There was fire damage that left an opening into the interior of the roof. He covered it with screen material to prevent any animal getting in there. Birds were the concern. He also endured a wasp sting to the back of the head without complaint. He is an extremely nice person. I highly recommend this company.
